That book is collecting dust on my living room's table.

I'm itchin' to read it, but I'll wait after I watch the movie,,,,because I don't want to waste my time trying to see what they "left out" instead of just watching the movie.

This might look like Monique's breakthrough role.

I'm on pins & needles for this movie and Chris Rock's "Good Hair".

To be honest?

I probably would've never heard of the book had it not been for Lee Daniels, and I'm a book buff.

But I don't make a habit of reading books like these maryluvs_smh.gif they're emotionally draining, I read Toni Morrison's "Bluest Eyes" for the 1st time last year and put it down after afew chapters. I couldn't take it.

AND THAT'S WHAT IM GETTING FROM THIS BOOK. ITS EXTREMELY DEPRESSING. BUT AT THE SAME TIME, A REALITY FOR A LOT OF YOUNG GIRLS.

I read it years ago! Even did a project on it in one of social work classes! It's a great book, I just wish that they would have mentioned the father more, just to have his side of the story...

I'm MAD as hell though @ the fact that they still talking about "making it into a movie".

There was a big deal about shooting it back in '92 and nothing came out of it. I hope Will Smith's company buys the rights of this book.

maryluvs_excl.gif One of my all time favorites. This book made me and fan of Octavia (R.I.P.) I plan to read all of her books.

"Fledgling" is also a good book by her.

THIS IS THE BOOK THAT INSPIRED ME TO START WRITING AGAIN.. wub.gif
