maryluvs_bye1.gif First thing I wouldn't purchase Windows Vista and pretty much any new hard drive and burner you get will do, but make sure you get a really big hard drive at least 80GB or more. The burner at least a 16x or higher.

Hopefully that helps

When you purchase a DVD burner, make sure it can burn DVD-R, DVD+R, and Dual Layer DVD's.

Stay away from Vista!!! If your computer is not brand new, maybe you will have to purchase additional RAM to even run it. Also, there are still not very much software for Vista. It looks cool, but I'd rather recommend you to stick to Win XP as long as possible.
